New to 2018 is Hill Farm House, set in a ten-acre small holding on the edge of the stunning village of Brigstock. This beautiful once dairy, has grown into a unique wedding venue. If you are a couple who are looking for a truly romantic venue to exchange your vows, then this is the place for you. Therefore, after meeting the owner and head honcho Nicola at a Salonista open day, we knew we had to show this venue for all its brilliance with a photo shoot.
We asked our sister company KTV Venue Stylists to help with the styling on the day and after a lengthy discussion we decided that using Rajni, a traditional canvas Raj-style marquee was not what we wanted to show from this shoot. Rajni, speaks for itself, it oozes class and charm, but we really wanted to use the luxurious space and hidden beauty spots that Hill Farm House has to offer.
From a secret garden to a pond and a tree house to an undercover walkway, there was only one person we wanted to capture those beautiful scenic views and bridal portraits and that was Karl Drage. We have built up a close working relationship with Karl and as a wedding planner it is essential we can recommend someone who we highly trust. Not only has Karl got the perfect attention to detail but with his years of experience he knows exactly what works and how to take ideas and make them perfect.
Elegance By Design, based in Corby supplied not only one but two beautiful dresses for the shoot. We met with Issi, the manager to go over our plans for this venue and decided a boho, rustic feel would be the theme best suited for the gorgeous grounds. The first dress being an Art Couture modern crepe straight sheer lace bodice and the second an Eternity bridal gown with delicate floral lace and a stretch jersey underneath. Issi also suggested using Emma, a member of her team as the model and it worked out just perfectly. Jema, the salon manager at Salonista loves boho bridal hair. She created a soft natural curl, nothing fussy but a little bit fluffy with backcombing in the crown area, just enough to add some natural volume. A fresh flower halo provided by Rockingham Flowers finished the hair perfectly. The highly talented Danielle from Unorthodox Make-Up Box provided Emma with a gorgeous look.
Wendy from Rockingham Flowers in Kettering provided all of the wonderful flowers and bouquets. The small hand-tied bouquet was white spray roses and lily of the valley. The large, unstructured bouquet included pink peony roses, skimmia, eucalyptus, viburnum and treefern. The hand-tied bouquet that was made later in the day contained just the peony roses, the skimmia and the white spray roses. All of these flowers were used to fill the vases and help decorate the cake.
It’s custom to have a cake at a wedding but when you are not focusing inside of the venue then you need a cake that suits the surrounds. We met with Fiona from Butterwick Bakes in Corby and decided that a naked cake would look amazing surrounded by the luscious greenery at Hill House Farm. Made with vanilla sponge, homemade jam and buttercream it looked not only visually stunning but tasted divine as everyone involved would agree.
Not only were we lucky enough for our sister company, KTV Venue Stylists to be with us on the day but the fantastic Cloud 9 Event Hire and Beau Bright Event Design left some fantastic accessories to use to help show how wonderful the delightful grounds can be added to. Swings, lanterns, a rustic screen and a classic vintage door were just some of the beautiful items that we had to play with.
Charlbeck Jewellers in Corby provided some beautiful accessories for Emma. They are a family run independent jewellery shop specialising in engagement and wedding rings. As you can see, jewellery doesn’t just have to be worn on the day to add the wow factor to your special day.
